James R. Johnson
Vice President Worldwide Sales, Spotwave Wireless
In this capacity, Jim oversees all of Spotwave's worldwide sales activities. Jim leads company's plan to forge strategic partnerships and leads the company's Indirect, Enterprise, Consumer teams for both commercial and residential in-building wireless products.
Prior to Spotwave, Jim was Vice-President and General Manager, AT&T Wireless-Illinois/Indiana, assuming this position in May 1998. In this capacity, he was responsible for leading the Chicago operation in the achievement of all business measures including P&L.
Mr. Johnson joined AT&T Wireless Services as Vice President and General Manager of Consumer and Small Business, Central Region in December 1996. During that time he was the architect of the AT&T Wireless Central Region "Go to Market" distribution strategy, building and launching from the ground up the markets of Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland and Cincinnati. He grew the Chicago market from $0 revenue as a start-up in 1996 to $650M in revenue by 2005. He also led the integration of the Indianapolis market acquired from Cingular ($500M).
Immediately prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Johnson served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Communications Clearing House, Inc., a Chicago telephony and Internet pioneer providing integrated offers of wireless voice and data, local exchange and Internet offers to Chicago's commercial market.
Mr. Johnson spent 10 years with Ameritech Cellular in a variety of increasingly senior operations, sales and marketing positions, serving as Regional General Manager for both Detroit and Chicago operations.
